Owner's Open Forum

Today saw the third of the owner's open forum held in the bar following the monthly committee meeting last week. I had a hospital appointment at 1.30pm and so asked our youngest committee member to take the floor. To my amazement I was back on Mi-Sol well before the meeting was due to start, but as the said committee member had taken great pains to prepare his paperwork, I thought it only fair to let him continue. He did an admirable job in spite of being heckled by a more experienced committee member, so my thanks to him.

There have been several incidents during the last two weeks involving burglary, attempted burglary and an undesirable looking character of Bulgarian origin driving a red saloon car looking for scrap metal, he also has a black car. He has been seen removing scrap metal from owner's gardens. The wrought iron gates on an owner's property were lifted some time during the night last week and we believe he could be responsible. He was approached by Shelagh's grandaughter who told him not to come onto the park as it is private to which he replied he had the permission of President Paco. Notices have been posted around the park warning owner's that there are thieves about. The Guardia were called to two incidents and arrests have been made, vigilance is our only security at this moment in time so if you see anything suspicious please call the Guardia.

Our nearest branch of Banco Popular in Calle Orihuela has been closed therefore Mi-Sol's branch is now on Calle Apolo,(the old Alicante Road) this is an inconvenience especially for those who are unable to walk that distance and do not have transport. Payments can be made into any of the branches of Banco Popular, there is one near the fountains in Torreveija. If there are difficulities logistically in getting to the bank, arrangements can be made to go to the bank on your behalf.
