Lucas

The equipment for the automatic chlorine dispenser for the pool was installed last week and was up and running within two days. Lucas had been informed that he was no longer required to test the pool for chemicals, only to clean the surrounding areas, and the toilets. I was surprised therefore, when he requested money to buy chlorine as the level was low. I asked Tony Evans to test the pool and sure enough the level of chlorine was low. The technician responsible for the new machine arrived and also tested the level, when she checked the timer system, it had been altered. When confronted Lucas denied any involvement and blamed the technician. I therefore decided that Lucas was no longer required to work on the pool. It had been agreed at the previous committee meeting that he could put in quotes for any maintenance work required on the park and this he did for painting block 9, the main transformer block.

He had been advised about the danger and told not to get near the main cables, unfortunately the next day an accident occurred resulting in Lucas having to go to the hospital, he received an electric shock and was thrown off his ladder at quite a height. An ambulance was called and he spent the night in hospital suffering from minor injuries, he was very lucky. As a result the power on the site was reduced and Iberdrola had to be called to come out to fix the problem.

Paco was immediately at my door complaining about Lucas working and shortly afterwards the police arrived wanting to see the site insurance. Fortunately this was put into place in April and was in order much to Paco's chagrin.

Lucas should make a full recovery and we wish him well.
